Legal Practice & Procedures QQI Level 5 (Remote Teaching)

This online module could be described as a core module in any legal discipline.
Learners will assess the role and function of the constitution and evaluate the impact of EU law on Irish Law. We study the court system as well as the proceedings and personnel of the courts. We will examine Juries and Sentencing. We delve into Irish murder cases and also some civil cases. A trip to the court house is recommended. Legal Podcasts and indeed movies with legal concepts are also used as part of the curriculum. There is always time allotted for students particular areas of legal interest .
Past students have worked in law offices wishing to add theory to practice, some were doing a business qualification and were taking a legal module to fulfil their requirements, some wanted to do law and others just have an interest in law.
Progression: Solicitors, barristers, legal departments of government, the industrial and commercial sector amongst others, employ legal secretaries.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered through an Remote Teaching approach and are designed to inspire, motivate, facilitate, and support students in completing their QQI Qualification through a range of Virtual and interactive methods.
Students must have basic IT Skills.
