Entry Requirements: Qualifications
Leaving Certificate- five passes on ordinary level papers at Grade
D or better, or four passes of which at least two are on higher level papers at grade D or better. Passes must be obtained in english and Mathematics. applications will be considered from mature learners (over 21) who do not meet the educational requirements. Learners who have successfully completed Business Management QQI Level 6 may apply for an exemption to the accounting Technician of Ireland.
- Progression into 2nd year:
Learners must have passed Taxation I, Financial accounting 1 and at least one other subject before they can commence Year 2.

Learners will receive a Certificate upon successful completion of Year 1. Learners will receive a Diploma in accounting Technician upon successful completion of Year 2 plus 2 years work experience.

Pathway to Success for Accounting Technician students
Students will receive a Certificate upon successful completion of Year 1.
Students will receive a Diploma in Accounting Technician upon successful completion of Year 2 plus 2 years work experience.
Course Delivery
The majority of Practical classes such as Tax and Accounting will be in the classroom which may have to be adjusted at short notice depending on advice from the government.
Students must have basic IT Skills.
Course requirements for Online Learning
- Access to the use of a laptop/PC/tablet/smart phone
- Google Chrome is the recommended browser
- Good internet connection.
Fee Information
Fees apply to all part-time programmes.
A fee waiver of 30% is provided for applicants in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment. Please also check other fee waiver entitlements with Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP), INTREO or your Local Employment Service (LES) office that you may be eligible for.
